Emergency Weather Notice
Thank you for helping to spread the word last week concerning our Sunday closing due to snow and ice. To remind everyone, if there is inclement weather we have a notification system already in place with updates and notices on the WSOC-TV station, the First Presbyterian Facebook page and on the church's website. Going forward we will create a email blast to get the word out more effectively should there be emergencies that would cause schedule changes or closings.
Wednesday Night Fellowship
 To kick off our series on wellness, o n January 18th, Bettyanna Bremer, a chaplain with CHS, will lead a session to educate us about addiction and substance abuse.  Please join us for this important session as we learn about the signs and recovery options available.
   Please make your reservations by noon Monday.  The church is making purchasing decisions based upon the number of reservations so it is important your reservation is made by the deadlne.  If you forget to make your reservation, please come for the programs beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Menu:  pork loin, cabbage casserole, mixed veggies, fruit, salad, dessert.  Kids table: pizza bites, spaghetti with sauce, carrot sticks.

Chancel Flower Dates Available
  The Chancel Flower calendar has many opportunities for members to place flowers in the sanctuary for Sunday worship, either at the Communion Table or on the pedestals on each side of the Chancel. If you would like to be part of this ministry please contact  Deborah Mesimer . Once you have selected a date Deborah will reserve your place on the calendar.  The week before your Sunday you will receive a "reminder call" and can determine how you want the flowers to be acknowledged in the bulletin. 
  You may use the florist of your choice or work with the church to select a florist. Although the church does not have one florist it recommends, there are several that are familiar with our sanctuary, containers, worship schedule and will deliver the  arrangement on the Saturday before worship. You can get this information from the church office. 
  Please consider one of the following Sunday dates for chancel flowers :
         January 29                         All Sundays in July
February 5* and 19            August 6*, 13, and 20
March 5*, 19 and 26          September 10 and 24
