ECLIPSE ANYONE?
Unless you've been in seclusion somewhere, you've been hearing about the solar new moon eclipse happening today. Eclipses happen about every six months but it has been almost a century since one cut a path across the United States where it will be so visible to so many Americans.
How are you planning to celebrate this rare event? Are you getting your eclipse glasses, taking off from work and heading to a good viewing spot? Or are you just going through a normal Monday whatever that means for you without much notice of the celestial dance in the sky above?
Personally I have been feeling the energy of this upcoming event for the last week and think it is a great opportunity for some self-reflection. Eclipses release a lot of energy and create shifts - out with the old and in with the new. So I am considering what that means in my own life. What do I need to release and what do I want to welcome into my life?
I will be meditating at the time of the eclipse. Instead of watching it, I want to feel it. I want to feel the energy and use the time to set intentions for changes I need to make - changes in outdated patterns of thinking I may have, changes in behaviors that don't serve me, changes in how I spend my time and even changes in how I relate to others.
Here are some questions that you might want to ask yourself:
1) Are you happy in your life?
2) Are you doing work that fulfills you?
3) Are your relationships loving and satisfying?
4) What do you believe about what you deserve in life?
5) Are you spending time doing what is truly most important?
6) Are you getting the support you need?
These are just questions to stimulate some self-awareness and hopefully to encourage you to notice where you might want to set intentions for change. If you feel so guided, set some time on this special new moon to consider whether the status quo is enough for you. If not, you have some powerful energy today to support you in moving in a new direction.
Wishing you love and light,
Cathleen
