Rescuing animals is a family affair for Taylor Wilbur. As a child, her family rescued animals including dogs, cats, hummingbirds and even pigeons. It led her to work with animals, which she has been doing for six years.
As a Guest Service Attendant at Second Home where she started in May, Taylor does everything from activities, feeding and doggy day care to cleaning, customer interaction and cuddle time. Taylor also ensures clients that their pets are well cared for while they are at Second Home.
"I love the work environment and appreciate my coworkers," Taylor said. "Everyone has respect for each other and helps each other out." Fun is built into the job given its nature, but Taylor appreciates her coworkers who she says are "awesome."
When Taylor first started working at the resort she was pleasantly surprised to find out that "cuddle time" was part of the job. "I really enjoy that we get extra time with the animals," she said.
Taylor respects that owners Cheryl and Roger Naumann also "take time out of their day and help to catch stray animals" and admire their commitment to the rescue community.
Employees at Second Home are not just a number. "They go the extra mile to make sure the staff is happy," Taylor said. "I think I got very lucky landing this job."
