MSA WEST WEEKEND
 
MSA-West holds its 19th Annual Conference " One Fight, Many Champions" this weekend, Jan. 13 - 15, at the University of California Riverside. Participants must be at least 15 years old to attend. 

One-day or full weekend registration, closes on Thursday, January 12th. The weekend is sure to be filled with many great speakers and activities.

Two of the Shura Council majlis members participated in the recent LA Times article " What it Means to be a Muslim American in the Age of Trump."

President Obama delivers his farewell address with  a reminder and a call to action for every citizen to be an active participant in the democratic system.

As President Obama leaves office, he leaves many legacies, both positive and negative. One positive is that the
Federal Prison population decreased during his Administration.

U.S. Army eases rules on beards, turbans for Muslim and Sikh troops.

The erasure of Islam from the poetry of Rumi, and one scholar's quest to restore it in his translation of "The Masnavi."

Recent rains in California are reviving its drought-raved lakes but the state is still in a years-long drought.
