January 2017

Thank you to our students, teachers and the staff along with the PCHS students who worked very hard at making our Christmas Program a success!

A special thanks goes out to Cam Zielinski who worked the sound board,  Natalie Schaefer who played the piano and Tom Bernecker for playing the trombone for our families and guests.

We truly appreciate the overwhelming response you gave to the family we sponsored through Catholic charities.  Please continue to keep this family and all of those in need in your thoughts and prayers.

Happy New Year!

Mrs. Laura McErlean
Principal
Kindergarten Kapers

The Christmas Program was wonderful! Great job to all of the parents for doing a wonderful job with the costumes! We have enjoyed all of the Christmas activities the last few weeks, but we know what is most important - The birth of Jesus!  We are very busy in Kindergarten this month, we look forward to learning about short vowels and their rules in Reading.  We will be discussing all the different gifts God has given us, such as our five senses. We will recognize, identify and show numbers up to 31!  Our science unit will be on the Solar System. The children will be gaining knowledge of the Universe through learning about Earth, the planets, and stars. There is still a lot of learning to do!
PreKindergarten Press

The weather outside may be frightful but inside PCCA our learning is delightful!  The children have learned many letters and their sounds. Please continue to practice letter recognition and sounds at home daily.  We also have learned many numbers.  The children should be able to recognize numbers 1-10 now and count to 20.

We look forward to learning about winter animals, farm animals, fish and water.  We will focus on the letters G, P and W and the numbers 9 and 10.  Please remember not to send the children in snow boots. Please make sure names are on all children's clothing, hats, gloves, scarves, etc.  The areas are clear for them to walk without boots.   Report cards for the Pre-K will be coming out soon.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact your child's teacher.

Show 'N Tell will be on Friday, January 13th and our theme is "My Favorite Christmas Gift".  The children are allowed to bring in a toy for this Show 'N Tell.
Preschool Pitter Patter

Happy New Year!  The themes for the month of January will be I Am Happy, Animal's, Water and Rainbows!  We will end the month with Catholic Schools Week.  The children will use a variety of media to create art projects and engage in some cold sensory experiences.  The number five, the color brown, and a diamond will also be emphasized throughout the month.

Show 'N Tell will be on Tuesday, January 10th and Wednesday, January 11th and our theme is "My Favorite Christmas Gift".  The children are allowed to bring in a toy for this Show 'N Tell.
