Family Shabbat on January 6, Welcoming New
Religious School Students
On January 6th, we will be celebrating & officially welcoming our new religious school students. Everyone in the congregation is invited to this fun and festive service where our new students will be called up to the bimah to receive a gift from their TBC family. TBC's Year-End Appeal!
From President Cindy Baulsir:
I'd like to personally thank the 70+ people
that attended the 40th Anniversary celebration of our community, our "That's 70's Shul" Gala. The event was a great way for us to come together, express our gratitude for our history, share stories, and raise funds.
We have set an aggressive goal
for our fundraising efforts this year! Our goal is $40,000 to celebrate our 40 years. Many of you have already generously donated, to get us more than half way there! If you have not yet given, consider making a year-end tax deductible donation.
Your donation goes to
the many diverse programs/services that TBC offers, to those in need, and to providing educational opportunities to everyone that wants it! We simply can't do it without you. Your support will make a lasting impact on the future welfare of the community!

Great Articles on Our Wi-ACT Refugee Family
A number of TBC members have been participating in the Wi-ACT initiative to help and support a Syrian refugee family in Wilton. Two excellent articles came out giving updates on the family and how they've been faring. (Spoiler alert: well!)

Volunteer information for Jewish Senior Services
Please call or email Ellen Ashkins if you are interested in volunteering at JSS. There are many wonderful volunteering opportunities including one-to-
one visits, writing letters, transporting residents to activities, and hospice care. At JSS, giving back to the community is not just a cliché, but a way of life.
New Hospice Training Program! The goal is to have trained Hospice volunteers in clusters all over Fairfield County so that when the need presents itself, volunteers do not have to travel far. Chaifetz Family Hospice will be holding a two day Hospice Volunteer Training Program for anyone interested in giving their time and compassion to terminally ill patients and their loved ones. Training will be held at Jewish Senior Services, 4200 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, CT on Sunday, February 5th and Sunday, February 12th from 9:00 am-4:30 pm. TBC Social Action - Help Haiti for Hanukkah!
Hurricane Matthew devastated Haiti in early October, killing more than 900 people, leaving 175,000 people homeless and a million more struggling to survive.
TBC Social Action is encouraging donations to
Medical Aid To Haiti (MATH), a group of surgeons, nurses and others based at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford who are providing significant help on the ground in Haiti. Peggy and Steve Zamore worked at a small hospital in Haiti last year and have been following the truly terrible aftermath.

MATH is the best way to help provide food, water and other help to the desperate people affected by this disaster.

 Social Action Volunteers Needed!
TBC Social Action Committee. The TBC Social Action Committee has many local ways for you to help others, from pitching in at a soup kitchen to preparing dinner at an emergency shelter. New opportunities, dates, and times are posted to the TBC website, so please take a look and see where you can help.
Other Community Opportunities. There are also other ways to get involved in our communities. You can serve as a foster family, deliver food to those in need, and/or host a high school child in the ABC program.
