As 2016 draws to a close, it is fitting to look back on the blessings of the year and look forward to those the new year holds at
the changing of the calendar.
We are abundantly blessed at CJ to have the support of our alumni, faculty, staff, parents, guardians, benefactors and friends. It takes the entire community to form our young men and women to become people of compassion, integrity, and service during these important years.
We would be remiss if we did not also acknowledge and thank all of our advisers and coaches who spend a tremendous amount of time in supporting the development of our students. Their time and dedication to bringing out the gifts and talents of our young people is admirable and makes CJ a truly special place.
As we wrap up this year, let us offer up prayer and embrace a spirit of thanksgiving for all those who inspire, motivate, and support our Eagles in the classroom, on the field, on the stage, on the court and course, at the alley, in the pool, on the river, and everywhere in between.

Offices Closed During Christmas Break
Through Monday, Jan. 2
The welcome center, business office, OSS, and ministry & service offices will remain closed through Monday, Jan. 2. Normal business hours will resume Tuesday, Jan. 3. Other offices including alumni & development, communications, and athletics, will be closed on Monday, Jan. 2 only. Classes resume at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4.

Post-Graduation Plans
Seniors should bring in a copy of all college decision letters so we can track the information in Naviance and update our files. We want to include the reply of each college applied to, and any scholarship award from schools including ones students do not plan to attend. We also want to know about any outside scholarship awards received. This information will be used for the awards assembly and senior program. We
will post all acceptance letters on the college board in the hall, so please have your student bring their letters to Emily Saunders.
No matter what your student's plans are after CJ, please have them share the good news with the guidance office so we can spread the word.

Courageous - Encounter for CJ Students
Sunday, Jan. 1 | 7:30 p.m. | CJ Chapel
Is your student ready for Courageous, the first Encounter for only CJ students? Are they ready for a breakthrough year in 2017? Why not get started on Day One!
We will have Jesus in Eucharistic Adoration and Fr. Ethan in Confession. We will also have praise and worship music and a talk on Eucharistic Miracles.
Jan. 1 is also the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God. Pope Paul VI called the Solemnity of Mary "a fitting occasion for renewing adoration of the newborn Prince of Peace...through the Queen of Peace, the supreme gift of peace."

CALENDAR REMINDERS
Spring Semester Calendar Changes
Please review the
school calendar for changes in the spring semester. In particular, please note the following:
- Wednesday, Jan. 25: School now begins at 8 a.m.
- Wednesday, Mar. 15: Normal late start for freshmen and sophomores. Juniors and seniors need to be at school by 8:30 a.m. for capstone presentations
- Tuesday, Mar. 21: School testing, dismissal by 12:15 p.m. (except seniors who will either be on the senior trip or have no school this day)
- Wednesday, Apr. 26 & Thursday, Apr. 27: Whole school two-hour delay except for students taking the biology state test
- Monday, May 1 & Tuesday, May 2: Whole school two-hour delay except for students taking the algebra 1 and geometry state tests

Wright Scholar Research Assistant Program
Applications Due Before Monday, Jan. 9
Qualified juniors and seniors are strongly encouraged to apply for this competitive program. The number of CJ students accepted in recent years has grown. It is a tremendous paid summer internship program at WPAFB right in our own backyard! It is a commitment, for an entire summer, but well worth it, to introduce students to many STEMM career fields.
