12th Night Winter Gathering

Advent greetings! I look forward to hosting a Winter Gathering for the adults of the parish at my home on January 6, and although that Friday in fact is the Feast of the Epiphany, we gather to celebrate the last night of the Season of Christmas, the 12th night of Christmas!

EYC Resumes with an Epiphany Party
Sunday, January 8, 4-6 PM 

Saint Paul's EYC (Episcopal Youth Community grades 6-12) resumes with an Epiphany Party, Sunday, January 8, 4-6 PM . This is a night to bring friends and dancin  shoes for disco ball dancing delirium. Festive wear encouraged! Email Ranie to RSVP or to find out more about our youth ministries. EYC for middle and high sc hool w ill resume its regular Sunday night schedule, 5-6:30 pm, after January 8. 


2nd Sunday Birthday Celebration

Next Sunday is Birthday Sunday during "Coffee and Conversation." (10:30 - 10:45 am), ALL are invited to our brief but joyful celebration in Tyler Hall for all whose birthdays fall in January.

2016 Contribution Statements
2016 Contributions Statements will be mailed no later than January 31, 2017. All contributions must be received by the church or postmarked before January 1, 2017 in order to be eligible for a 2016 income tax deduction. Episcopal Young Adult Ministry at Columba House Augusta
Columba House Augusta (CHA, pronounced Ch'-ä, like the dance!) is a local ministry for young adults ranging from 18 to 30ish. We gather weekly at Columba House, a neutral and safe place, to enjoy one another's company and explore BIG questions about faithfulness and belief and what it means to be formed by the way of Jesus Christ in our postmodern context! Parents of College Students
Parents of college students, The Daughters of the King, an Episcopal prayer and service order, has a special ministry at Saint Paul's praying for and supporting our college students. If your student would like to participate in this program, please send their name and address to program coordinator, Julia Hickman, so that they may receive notes and small surprises during the year.

Tuesday's Music Live Resumes
Tuesday, January 10, 12 Noon
Tuesday's Music Live continues its 29th season Tuesday, January 10, with a free concert by Revien Trio. Lunch, catered by Sleeping Bear Kitchen, is available after the concerts by advance reservation. The cost is $12 per person. Reservations can be made online at www.tuesdaysmusiclive.com or by calling the Box Office, (706) 722-3463.

Join the Saint Paul's Craig-Houghton Readers

Do you love to read children's books? The pre-Kindergarten classes at Craig-Houghton School need to read 1000 books. Come help our kids meet that goal! We read every day at 10 am. Please email  Kathy Enicks or contact her by telephone at (484) 433-4007 to find out more or to get on the schedule.

Annual Parish Meeting and Brunch
Sunday, January 22
The 267th annual parish meeting and brunch will be held Sunday, January 22, following the 11 AM service. Details will follow. Please mark your calendars.
VESTRY NOMINATIONS REQUESTED

The Vestry Nominating Committee is seeking candidates whom you believe would make outstanding Vestry members for Saint Paul's. If you'd like to suggest someone, including yourself, please
contact Dea Baldwin, Jr. Warden 
VESTRY RESPONSIBILITIES
The basic responsibilities of the Vestry are:
· to help define and articulate the mission of this congregation
· to support the church's mission by word and deed
· to support the clergy
· to ensure effective organization and planning
· to manage resources and finances
· to attend monthly vestry meetings and annual vestry retreat
· to serve as liaison to assigned parish committees
This is a 3 year term.

MINIMUM CRITERIA
To be eligible for the Vestry, a nominee must answer "yes" to all of the following questions.
· Have you been baptized?
· Do you regularly attend worship services at Saint Paul's?
· Are you a pledging member of Saint Paul's?

CANDIDATE PROFILES
Each nominee slated to run for election to the Vestry will be invited to share a profile with the parish via our regular parish communications including the weekly newsletter.
