2017 CMH Tween Girls Night In

"Donut" you know it's going to be a great party?

Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) and Shannon Calvert, M.D., board-certified pediatrician with Butterfield Park Pediatrics, will host a free “girls only” event for tweens on April 18 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the CMH Community Rooms, located in the hospital at 1500 N. Oakland, Bolivar.

The Girls Night In “Donut Worry, Be Happy” event is open to girls ages 9 to 13 and their mothers, grandmothers, aunts, teachers, caregivers and/or mentors. Tweens will learn about growing up, puberty, manners, conversation starters, gift giving, writing thank you notes and much more.

“This is our ninth year to bring Girls Night In to our tween-agers. Over the years, we have had the opportunity to connect with more than 1,300 girls and their caregivers through this event. The ‘in between’ years of a young girls life are the perfect opportunity to discuss being healthy inside and out,” says Dr. Calvert. “Tween girls are impressionable and this evening provides clear and relevant information and direction for pre-teen girls and the women influential in their lives.  Every year, we bring new information and presenters to the event. We want everyone in the room to feel comfortable, have fun, learn the right information from the right people and ask lots of questions.”

The free event includes fun door prizes and a light meal.  Limited edition 2017 Girls Night In T-shirts are available in youth and adult sizes for $15 and $17 each.   Space is limited and reservations are requested.

P.S. We realize that some girls may not have a mentor who is able to attend. We want them to come anyway! We'll connect them with an awesome CMH staff mentor for the evening. Just mark the registration form so we know how many extra volunteers are needed.

*If you are CMH staff and would like to payroll deduct your shirts, please just add your employee number to the registration page and for payment mark "pay at door".
