Chanukah Tot Shabbat with Catered Dinner

Worried that your little ones will squirm and make noise during services?
No need to worry at Tot Shabbat!
Led by Rabbi Magat and Cantor Amanda Winter, families with young children will enjoy upbeat songs, a short story, and a talk with the Rabbi on the bimah during these brief services. The perfect way to introduce your little ones to the tradition of Friday nights. Followng services, enjoy a delicious dinner provided by Sisterhood, of course at no charge!
Special December Dilemma

In response to what is happening in our world and the request of some parents, Rabbi Magat will hold a special December Dilemma session on prejudice, antisemitism and Islamophobia.  This event is free and open to the public.
Latkes and Laughs

Israeli Dancing

Put on your dancin' shoes and join our free dancing class taught by our very own Loui Tucker. This class takes place on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. No dance experience necessary and we welcome everyone from the community to join.

Help Others this Holiday Season! Embrace-A-Family 
November 17 to December 23
We are partnering with Jewish Family Services of Silicon Valley to fulfill the Chanukah holiday wishes of families and seniors who would otherwise go without gifts. We have displayed in our foyer a dreidel board full of wish cards - as well as those online on the  Target Gift Registry for Embrace-A-Family wish that you can choose from. Stop by and pick up a wish card, return your gift and dreidel tag to JFS by December 23, and put a large smile on someone's face! Any questions? Re-Opening

The Temple Emanu-El Religious School Committee is thrilled to announce that after painting and refurnishing our Temple library, it is ready for use and filled with new books just for you!  Everyone who attends the re-opening will receive a raffle ticket for a great prize.  At 12:15 PM our religious school classes will join Rabbi Magat as we affix a new mezuzah to the door.  Join us for lunch with Brotherhood following.

Chanukah Festival of Lights in Union Square
December 24 to January 1
A local miracle happened in San Francisco in 1975 when community leaders joined together to create the first big menorah public celebration of Chanukah outside of Israel. Today that spark of innovation has spread to annual Chanukah celebrations in over 500 cities worldwide including; Berlin, Paris, Buenos Aires, Brisbane and Ho Chi Minh City. Jewbilee Day of Jewish Learning

Jewbilee is a full afternoon of Jewish-themed classes, workshops, and performances for all ages. The afternoon is divided into sessions, with many classes, workshops and performances happening simultaneously during each session. YOU choose what you want to do. Educators from synagogues and other Jewish organizations around the Bay Area and beyond, will be represented.
