PRINCIPAL'S LETTER
Dear Holy Name families,
We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Yesterday we had a faculty meeting focused around safety. Please be sure to read the letter sent home today regarding
safety updates and upcoming safety drills. Don't forget to download the
school app by clicking
here on your smart phone.
The 2017 year is almost over! Please remember to turn your
church donations in if you are on the Active Parish Supporter Plan.
Our
Christmas Show will be here before you know it! Please save the date for Thursday, December 14th at 6:30PM.
Shhhhh... it's time to decorate the school for
Christmas so we can surprise the students on Monday morning! If any of you are interested in helping to decorate on Saturday from 12-2PM, please email me at [email protected]. If anyone would like to donate Christmas decorations or fake Christmas trees, please just bring them to the main office. (Please remember it's a secret!)

A MESSAGE FROM FATHER ARNOLD
Life is full of "UPS" and "DOWNS".
The only WISDOM in facing them is to GLORIFY GOD during the "ups" and FULLY TRUST him during the "downs"!
Remember:
The best place in the world is to be in the ARMS OF GOD who will not only hold you at your "BEST" but will pick you up and hold you tighter at your "WEAKEST".
When you are going through something hard and wonder where GOD is,
remember the teacher is always quiet during a test.

2018 Silent and Live Auction
"Open Your Heart"
The Auction Raffle Tickets are coming!
Next week, each Holy Name School Family will receive two (2) books of Auction Raffle Tickets. Please consider supporting this cause by either buying or selling as many raffle tickets as you can!
Here are this year's prize offerings:
1st Prize: $1,500 Cash
2nd Prize: $500 Cash
3rd Prize: $250 Cash
This Auction will provide additional funds to help meet a need of the school. This year that need is new ceiling-mounted projectors for the classrooms. These projectors will provide more space in the classroom for the students and classroom activities and allow for better visuals. In addition, money raised will support our enrichment programs, particularly our Foreign Language Program, as well as our technology offerings and needs.

NEWBORN BABY ITEMS NEEDED
The Christmas season is coming soon. During this season of Advent, the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women collects newborn baby items for needy mothers. Holy Name School families have always been one of the most generous schools to bring in diapers, clothing, blankets, etc. Your donations of new, unwrapped items can be placed at the Nativity outside of the 3rd grade classroom.

USED SCHOOL UNIFORM SALE
Is your child outgrowing his or her uniform? Here is your opportunity to buy gently used uniforms and donate ougtrown ones to school. The uniform sale will be held in the schoolyard after school on Wednesday, December 6 and Thursday, December 7th. Please click here for details.

Thank you to HN school and parish for donations to the HN Youth Ministry, who assembled over 200 care packages for the homeless.
The packages will be distributed via St. Agnes, Faith to Justice outreach ministry.
The next Youth Ministry gathering will be on
Dec 9th following the
5pm
mass. The focus will be Advent. During this gathering, we will assemble sandwiches for SVDP. Youth are encouraged to bake and bring two dozen cookies. One dozen will be used for a cookie competition, while the other dozen to be donated along with the sandwiches to SVDP. (Points for interesting ingredients. )

EIGHTH GRADE FUNDRAISING NEWS
Our 8th graders are going to Washington D.C. in March! They are fundraising to help with their trip. One of their new fundraisers is a Shopping Party at the Sports Basement on Sunday, December 10.
