Introducing the 2017 Global Performance Commitment

United's enhanced 2017 Global Performance Commitment is here! The 2017 program offers two new and exciting elements; an industry leading carbon footprint commitment and top-tier baggage delivery commitment. The program also continues our ongoing commitment to operational excellence.

Introducing Apple Pay as United mobile app payment option

Customers with Apple iPhone 6 or later may now use Apple Pay as a new United app payment option on mobile devices. This new payment option is only possible when Apple Pay has been setup on an iPhone with credit or debit card(s) in the Apple Wallet. When ready to make a payment, customers will simply choose their preferred card in their Apple Wallet. Apple Pay works like a traditional credit or debit card transaction, and all refunds will process back to the original form of payment.

Same day flight cabin buy-ups

Customers may buy up to a higher cabin on the same flight for the same day of travel. The change fee associated with buying up to a higher fare and cabin will be waived for agency-issued tickets if there is no change to the flight and date.

Please follow these instructions to process the exchange:
  • The add collect must include the fare difference between the fare paid on the original ticket and the applicable fare of the desired higher cabin.
  • Ticket endorsement box must contain: NONREF/0VALUAFTDPT/CHGFEE
Although the change fee is waived for this transaction, the change fee, nonrefundable value and fare rules associated with original fare will apply for subsequent reissues. Tickets reissued without the endorsement may be subject to a debit memo.

A:00 is the measure of flights arriving exactly on time; completion factor is flights successfully completed (including controllable and uncontrollable cancellations).
