Looking up on Monday, August 21 at 2:42 pm
The Great American Eclipse will bring a total eclipse on the sun from Sea to Shining Sea on Monday August 21, 2017. The Park Authority welcomes park visitors to view the eclipse.
The Park Foundation has distributed each of the thousands of coveted protective solar eclipse glasses to participants enrolled in RecPAC and other Park Authority summer camps and educational programs.
A Fairfax County website contains information on how to safely view the event which includes television coverage provided by NASA as one option. Enjoy the experience, just remember to protect your eyes as your one pair that must last a lifetime!

Help Plan YOUR Parks
The Fairfax County Park Authority is in the process of creating its first ever Parks and Recreation System Master Plan. With a 10-year time horizon, the Master Plan will guide the agency to meet growing and changing community needs. This long-range, comprehensive park system master planning effort builds on the findings from the Parks Count! Needs Assessment that was completed in spring 2016.
The draft master plan is available for public review until September 15,2017.
Submit your comments via
