THE WELL BALANCED STUDENT:
DENISE POPE EVENT ON 1/24

On Tuesday, January 24, Wellesley High School will present "The Well Balanced Student" at 7pm in the Wilbury A. Crockett Library, to launch Wellesley's Challenge Success initiative. Stanford University's Denise Pope, Ph.D., and co-founder of Challenge Success will be the featured speaker.

A nationwide program based at Stanford University, Challenge Success seeks to help communities expand their often narrowly defined notions of success and offers practical, research-based solutions and interventions to reduce stress and increase student engagement and well-being. Our partnership with Challenge Success has been made possible through a generous grant from the Wellesley Education Foundation (WEF).

THE FUND FOR WELLESLEY: YOUTH IN PHILANTHROPY

Unique opportunity : The Fund for Wellesley and the Foundation for MetroWest are offering an amazing opportunity to HS students living and learning in Wellesley.

Youth in Philanthropy (YIP) is a free, 17-week extracurricular program for high school students that offers an introduction to various forms of philanthropy and community involvement. YIP opens students' eyes to what is around them by exposing them to the needs that exist in our community, reading real grant applications that come in to the Foundation for MetroWest, and ultimately working as a team to award $10,000 in grants to local youth-serving nonprofits.  Terrific opportunity to learn about giving, evaluating and leading.
