Suleiman works in Bailey & Wyant's Charleston office.

Mr. David Mincer  (pictured left) and Mr. Harrison Cyrus (pictured right) tried a case on behalf of the Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association on December 7, 2016 that resulted in a defense verdict as to all claims raised.  The Plaintiff had alleged that the Humane Association had failed to give proper notice of the seizure of an animal and of the Plaintiff's rights to file an action to attempt to retrieve the animal.  The Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association countered that the dog was brought in as a stray by a member of the public severely underweight/malnourished and infested with fleas. This would have subjected its owner to criminal prosecution for animal neglect or abuse and that despite Plaintiff, the owner, knowing that the dog was in custody of the Humane Association, Plaintiff failed to attempt to retrieve the dog or file an action in Court to attempt to legally regain custody of it.  After hearing all of the evidence, the Court ruled in favor of the Humane Association based on the fact that it had complied with its legal duties.
