The Story

"The Story" Sermon Series
Begins September 17th
Here at La Jolla Pres., we want to see lives transformed through a relationship with Jesus. One way we witness that is by sharing God's Story, and equipping you to share His story as well. To help accomplish this on September 17th we will begin a 31week series called "The Story" to help guide us through the Bible and experience God's word in its entirety.

The Sunday sermons, youth and children's ministries, book study groups, and family groups will all be focusing on the same passages each week.

We encourage you to dig in and get the most out of this series by picking up a copy of "The Story" next Sunday (the 27th) in the courtyard or audio and Kindle versions can be purchased online through retailers such as Amazon.

Over these 31 weeks we'll explore God's Story, hear Your Story, and together reveal Our Story.
Mission Partner Update

Pastors To Prisoners Minute for Ministry - Aug. 20
Pastors to Prisoners is a California non-profit organization providing ongoing financial support to ordained or licensed ministers uniquely burdened and willing to work with the incarcerated as full-time volunteer yard pastors under the direction of state chaplains in prison facilities. The goal for inmates is spiritual freedom in prison and success in society.

We believe it is not enough simply to incarcerate lawbreakers. Punishment must include an opportunity for rehabilitation in order to limit the prison population and give offenders an opportunity to make a positive contribution to society. Lasting change comes from the inside out, through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Public monies provide only one Protestant Chaplain per institution to serve upwards of 4000+ inmates on several "yards" within each prison.

Chris McKellar will be here this Sunday to share this vision and stories of what Pastors to Prisoners is doing behind prison walls. You can help support them by marking a check or envelope with "Pastors to Prisoners" and putting it in the offering basket, or mailing it to the church.
