Are you keeping your voice healthy?

When was the last time you thought about it?

So many of us don't think enough about our voices, or frankly, think about our voices at all.  And yet, the majority of us use our voice from morning until night. And when the Seahawks won last Saturday, did you think about your voice during the game? The day after? Even if we have extensive acting training, most of us warm up a bit, never even considering warming down after tough sessions.
This past December, Voiceover Insider Podcast host Julie Williams interviewed Seattle Voice Institute's director, Shana Pennington-Baird about vocal health and her experiences with vocal damage and coming back from it.

From the article-- the Mabis Steam Inhaler.

Voice with Gin and Shana - 6-Week Intensive
Wednesday nights, starting Jan. 11th 7-9pm

Scared to sing? Want to improve resonance? Students will enhance their vocal potential by moving through a series of empowering voice/mind/body exercises aimed at deepening vocal relaxation and strength. This will be a physical, full-body approach to voice, providing students with both vocal exercises and a greater understanding of physiology. Through a mix of Fitzmaurice Voicework(c) and a variety of other approaches taught at universities across the country, this class will help students learn how to achieve greater vocal power, confidence, and ease. One hour is dedicated to strengthening the voice and another hour is filled with easy-going group singing and vocalese to improve resonance and confidence.

$325, payment plans accepted.

Warming up really counts. And learning to do it well can make the difference between booking the job... and not. Work with Rod Saulsberry's new book, Tongue Twisters and Vocal Warm-Ups with Other Vocal Care, and learn how to warm up by voice-over genre! This workshop is not a singing warm up - it will work for teachers, voiceover artists, singers, narrators, and anyone who uses their voice every day and needs it to sound great!

Demo Reels- Your Voice-over Business Card!

Want to get your current demo reel evaluated?  We are happy to take a listen and meet with you to compare your demo to others on the market that are similar to yours.  We'll help you decide if it needs updating.  These days demos range between :60-1:20 in length and every niche should be on a separate demo.  No characters on your commercial demo any more.  You need a commercial demo, video game demo, animation demo!  They are all separate now.  And if you have a 2:20 minute demo, let us help you cut it down and make a few new demos out of it. Plus, you could add a few files and renew your sound.

We keep our prices low because we know you need more than one demo.... or seven. Okay, start with three.

Other great workshops coming up (separate from Seattle Voice Institute) that we highly recommend!!
