Every Child Has A Unique Gift
Dear Parents and Community Members:
It is an honor and privilege to serve as the Milford Exempted Village School District Superintendent.  My guiding principle has always been and will continue to be that every child has unique gifts and can develop the skills to achieve their dreams.
It is my goal to work in partnership with the Board of Education, community, and school personnel to continue the upward trajectory of excellence and innovation not only within the classroom but also in our many co- and extra-curricular opportunities.
As we build on our successes, high academic standards, fiscal transparency and responsibility, and community involvement will remain as top priorities. Our schools must remain safe places where students are engaged, encouraged, and challenged to meet the standards for college or a career after graduation.  Our goal is to build trusting, productive, and sustaining relationships that demonstrate support for students and parents.
I am honored and humbled to have this opportunity to lead our wonderful school district. Delivering excellence will be our priority, and I look forward to achieving this together.
Have a wonderful school year! #MilfordSoars

This summer, 20 athletes represented Clermont County Special Olympics at the Ohio Special Olympics summer games held at Ohio State.
Milford schools sent eight athletes-Shane Barnes, Elena Ferguson, Michael Gilhooley, Justin McMullen, John Wahl, Jake Wolffram, Grace Marshall and Yanni Seward. These athletes competed in shot put, 50 and 100 meter runs, long jumps, javelin and softball throw. at the summer games.

Football Players Participate in Service Day
Kudos to our Milford Eagles coaches and football players who participated in Milford Football Service Day on July 15. More than 40 players extended a hand to those in need throughout our community. Head Coach, Shane Elkin, plans to make this an annual event.
"This was a great opportunity for all of us to connect with our families and community through service," Elkin said.

Music Students Share Talents Over the Summer
Milford Eagles are making their voices heard at the Ohio State Fair! Seven Milford High School choir students were selected for the All-Ohio State Fair Youth Choir. Along with 200 other singers from all over the state, they are spending three weeks living on the fair grounds in Columbus and providing entertainment for fair guests, and singing for important ceremonies and dignitaries.

Four Milford High School students were also selected to participate in the Loveland Stage Company production of West Side Story, which ran July 6-10. Felicity Gentry was part of the crew; Bailey Rogers was a Jet; and Zach Van Camp played the lead, Tony. Nevaeh Baker, an incoming freshman, was also a Jet girl in this play.
Community Input on Master Facilties' Plan
The Milford School District is completing a phase of its Master Facilities Plan with the opening of two new elementary schools on August 24. The next phase of the Milford's Master Facilities Plan calls for replacement of the two oldest buildings in the district, the Milford Junior High School and the Milford Preschool. The completion of renovations to the Milford High School building and campus is also part of the plan. The district is now in the queue for state funding in 2017 to complete these plans. The Milford Business Advisory Committee is exploring community partnerships to reduce the costs to the taxpayer and enhance the overall plan.

The district has formed a Milford Schools' Community Advisory Committee to gather community and staff input regarding our Milford District Facilities' Plan. The committee is composed of Milford school board members, superintendent, district office administrators, building level administrators, teachers and staff members, as well as, parent, student and community representatives. The committee will meet once or twice a month from September through December of 2016.

The architects for our new elementary schools, SHP Leading Design, will lead a visioning process to enable our school community to learn more about and discuss the educational facilities that will be necessary to support teaching/learning in the 21st century.  A community survey (phone and online) is also being conducted in August to solicit feedback on the facilities plan.
