Add to CalendarThis 6-week series was created for a person who has never practiced yoga and wants to try it or who has done yoga for a while, but the yoga poses have never felt natural or pleasurable in the body. This series will occur every Sunday from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm, starting January 22nd and ending February 26th. We will ask each participant to complete a brief questionnaire prior to the series so we can tailor this yoga workshop to your body and your prior experience with yoga.
This 6-week series will be taught by Emma Patrick, one of Yoga To You's expert teachers: http://yogatoyoupdx.com/about-our-teachers/. The series was developed by Lauren Fields: http://yogatoyoupdx.com/about-the-owner/. Creating this series based on 12 years of practice, over 5000 hours of teaching, and over 600 hours of training, Lauren is excited to offer Intro To Yoga as one of her Yoga To You events. The series influences are Simon Borg-Olivier's Yoga Synergy, Ray Long's Anatomy for Vinyasa Flow and Standing Poses and B.K.S Iyengar's Light on Yoga: Yoga Dipika.
Each class will start with the same simple warm-up for fifteen minutes and conclude with a 15-minute questions and discussion period. Standing postures will be broken down, explained and practiced. The class will be intimate, only four individuals in each class. Due to the smaller class size, participants will receive focused attention to their bodies and individualized feedback about the poses that are learned.
