iLaw 2017: the ILS Global Forum on International Law

The ILAT,  which for over a decade has  been Miami's leading international law conference, is now "iLaw2017: The ILS Global Forum on International Law" .
 
iLaw will feature a rich program with interesting presentations on cutting-edge issues in international law. This year, iLaw2017 is joining forces with the International Centre of Dispute Resolution and featuring the new ICDR arbitration track.

VIS Pre-Moot - Call for Arbitrators

The ILS is seeking attorney volunteers to serve as mock arbitrators in the 2017 Florida Bar ILS Miami Vis Pre-Moot Competition.  The event is on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at JAMS Resolution Center in Miami.  Free CLE credit will be available.  To volunteer, please contact planning committee chair Cristina Vicens at [email protected].  Please indicate whether you prefer morning or afternoon rounds.  The schedule and event details are available here: https://floridabarvispremootmiami.wordpress.com/

As part of the program, ILS' sister organization, the International Section of the New York State Bar Association, will  present the annual Award for Distinction in International Law and Affairs and hold a panel titled  Globalism versus Territorialism, exploring  new issues and anticipated ripple effects in a number of areas, including international trade, cross-border insolvency and governmental relations in the aftermath of the Brexit vote in the UK and the recent Presidential election in the U.S.

ILS' Past Chair Ed Mullins will be the moderator at a webinar titled "Making Arbitration Great Again: How to Avoid Mistakes Arbitrators and Counsel Make" on January 24, 2017 at 1pm EDT. During this practical and informative one-hour webinar, experienced arbitrators and counsel will tackle the mistakes they see each other commonly make and suggest ways to avoid them. To register or for more information, click here.

ILS' Past Chair Peter Quinter of Gray Robinson P.A. will be a panelist at a free webinar titled "Doing Business in Cuba" that  will provide a practical overview on how to conduct business in Cuba, including Cuba's new foreign investment law, trade regulations and IP protection. The iLaw2017, the ILS Global Forum on International Law, newly rebranded from the former "ILAT", will be held on February 17, 2017 at the Conrad Hotel in Miami. The iLaw2017 will include the International Center for Dispute Resolution's (ICDR) Arbitration Track. The Program Brochure will be out shortly, but in the meantime, Save the Date!

The  2017 Florida Bar ILS Miami Vis Pre-Moot Competition  will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017  and will take place at  JAMS Miami Resolution Center, 600 Brickell Avenue , Suite 2600, Miami FL 33131. The CPR Institute's Annual Meeting will be held on March 2-4, 2017 at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Miami.
