Seeking Candidate to fill Open PTA Co-President Role
We are immediately seeking an interested candidate to fill a recently vacated PTA Co-President Role. This role will require a person to be available for the next 1.5 years. Time commitment may be approximately 5-10 hours per week, and would begin immediately upon approval voting by the PTA Board and PTA General Membership.

The person chosen for this new Co-President position will have their first six months consist of "president training" under our current remaining PTA president, Sabrina Pinto . During this time, they will be working with Sabrina and have "shadowing" responsibilities in order to receive thorough training,  so that they may eventually be able to fulfill duties that include, but are not limited to, those detailed on the PTA Board President Job Description Website. If you have any additional questions regarding the position responsibilities, you may contact Sabrina Pinto Here.

Following these first six months, the next 12 months of duty for this newly-trained Co-President will be performed with another, newly-instated Co-President to support them. Additionally, during this 12 month period of time, Sabrina Pinto, will be staying on the PTA Board in order to fulfill a support role.

Anyone who believes they know, or may themselves be, an excellent candidate is encouraged to contact the VP's of Communication and Membership Here immediately.

Library News from Sra. Brody
Library Report  - Each trimester I will be writing a "Library Report".  This report features curriculum I have been working on with classes from September through December.  At the bottom of the report is a feature about our databases and the home log-ins.  Please click Here
to read the Library Report.

Reading Challenges  - Each year I create "Reading Challenges" featuring books from a variety of genres in the hope that students will read something new and interesting that will help ignite their love of reading.  This week the Challenge books will be on display in the library.  There will be a bookmark list of the books for students in 2nd and 3rd grade, and another bookmark for students in 4th and 5th grade. There are both English and Spanish books listed on each bookmark.  Students who read the required number of books on the list (or all of the books) will receive a bag of prizes, including a book, at the recognition assembly at the end of the year.

Library Collection  - Please save your used ink cartridges of any size, and old cell phones and turn them in to the library. Put a collection box at your office! The company I send them to gives me points that can be turned in to cash at the end of the year. I use the money to replace books that are tired and worn out. The funds help keep our book collection current and looking good. Thanks for the help!
