Notice to Members:

The Board of the Qualicum Beach Chamber of Commerce is currently doing a complete Bylaw review because of potential discrepancies within the current bylaws, which were last updated in 2010.

One of the discrepancies lies in the date of the Annual General Meeting.

After much discussion at the Board table it was decided to shift the Annual General Meeting date from November into March of future years.

Therefore, this is formal notice that the AGM for the Qualicum Beach Chamber of Commerce will take place at 5:30 on Wednesday March 15, 2017 at Milner Gardens and Woodlands.

If you have an interest in standing for election for the Board for Directors for a two year period, contact Evelyn Clark at 250-752-0960 by February 15, 2017.

For a copy of our current by-laws, please click here:  Qualicum Chamber Bylaws 2010

Please forward any feedback regarding the bylaws to the Board of Directors  ( chamber@qualicum.bc.ca) by Wednesday February 8 - with thanks.

This half-day, morning seminar will feature The Conference Board of Canada's well-known economic forecast and analysis for British Columbia, followed by a forum of some of the Island's leading business experts discussing the current provincial challenges and opportunities. This session will allow Vancouver Island's business leaders to explore the answers the following questions:
*    Where is the B.C. resource sector heading?
*    What is underpinning the B.C. success story?
*    Will LNG finally get started and what impact will it have in the short term?
*    What are the impacts of tectonic shifts in the Asia-Pacific economy and the slowdown in the Chinese economy on British Columbia and Vancouver Island?
