SFWMD Governing Board to Meet Nov. 9 in Doral
Doral, FL- The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) Governing Board will hold its third travel meeting of 2017 on Thursday, Nov. 9, at Doral City Hall in Miami-Dade County.

The Governing Board periodically holds its monthly business meetings at locations throughout the counties it serves to give all taxpayers the ability to attend meetings in their local communities and opportunities to comment on the monthly agenda. Previous travel meetings this year were held at the Seminole Tribe of Florida's Hollywood headquarters in February and in Orlando in May.

" This Governing Board prides itself on being able to travel to all 16 counties we serve," said SFWMD Governing Board Member Federico Fernandez. "We want to hear from residents and give individuals an opportunity to provide input on the policy decisions that will shape the future of South Florida's flood control, water resources and ecosystem restoration."

The agenda is expected to include discussions of ongoing water management efforts in Miami-Dade County and progress updates on planning  for the Everglades Agricultural Area Storage Reservoir Project as passed by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by
Governor Rick Scott.

The meeting will also be webcast on the District's website at www.sfwmd.gov.
