ASSEMBLYWOMAN RICHARDSON SPEAKS OUT AGAINST MANHATTAN SUBWAY ATTACK

New York - This morning, subway travelers were met with a tumultuous turn of events in Manhattan, where an attempted suicide bomber set off a homemade device at Port Authority Bus Terminal subway station. The bomb did not fully detonate, but multiple people were injured, according to authorities. Assemblywoman Diana C. Richardson expressed her admonishment towards this reprehensible act.

As per the Port Authority Bus Terminal website, it is the nation's largest, with about 230,000 passengers passing through it on a typical weekday. This otherwise busy area was left at a standstill after  the attack, leaving the suspect injured, and igniting public debates about terrorism and public safety.

Richardson, who serves on the Committee of Corporations, Authorities and Commissions, which controls institutions such as Port Authority,  issued a statement in response to today's attack, stating, "It is vital that we remain vigilant amidst deplorable acts of this nature, without allowing it to destroy our way of life." She added that "my thoughts and prayers are with those who have been affected."
