Today is the first day of our 5th Annual December Pledge Drive. If you are due to renew  your WDIY membership in December, please take a moment, click here, and do so today. If you would like to give us an additional gift or become a member for the first time, you can do so here.
 
ALL membership renewals, additional gifts and first time donations received by Friday, December 15th, will be entered in the drawings of our 5th Annual December pledge drive. Drawings include:
  • A $750 gift card to the Apple Store.
  • A pair of annual subscriptions to Zoellner Arts Center in Bethlehem, good for FIVE CONCERTS/SHOWS in the current season.

The Frank DiBussolo Philly Reunion Group - A Swinging Philly Christmas

Come see a concert that's sure to put you in the holiday spirit! Frank DiBussolo has been a professional musician since 1965. During this time, he has worked with artists that include Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Diana Ross, Diane Carroll, Vicky Carr, Bob Hope, George Burns and Dom DeLouise. As a soloist, he has been featured with the bands of Buddy Rich, Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey, Bucky Pizzarelli, Howard Alden, Lester Lannin and more. He has served on the faculties of Swarthmore College, Moravian College, Lehigh University and the Combs College of Music. Dr. DiBussolo has recorded extensively and can be heard on the Naxos, DBK, and Lost World record labels. For his work in the recording industry, he has been nominated eight times for The Grammy Award in various categories. He is published in Guitar Playe r, The Educator and Just Jazz Guitar magazines as well as in the Groves Dictionary.

   
 
The Santa Land Diaries

Returning for the second year, this outrageously funny one-man play from humorist David Sedaris is an alternative holiday celebration about the author's experiences as an unemployed writer taking a job as an elf at Macy's in NY. A take on how the holiday season brings out the best - and the worst - in us all. 
 



Christmas City Follies XVIII

Join Touchstone's annual holiday tradition, merrily assaulting the fun and foibles of the Christmas season in the Christmas City! With high-spirited, madcap, heartfelt love, this joyful variety show features a slew of new music and original characters, plus perennial local favorites like The Old Guy, Little Red, and the immortal Shopping Cart Ballet. Get your tickets early, and meet us under the mistletoe! We'll be there with bells on.

Host Neil Hever talks with Pat Taggart, director of the new documentary "Billboard Boys," which chronicles the contest of Allentown AM radio station WSAN in 1982.What started as a short-term publicity stunt to see who could live on a billboard over a busy highway the longest transformed into a nearly year-long international phenomenon. 
 
At the Movies: "Lady Bird" For her feature-film solo writer-director debut, Greta Gerwig chose her home town, Sacramento, Calif., as the 2002-2003 setting for the title character, Lady Bird (Saoirse Ronan), a 17-year-old female parochial school student on the cusp of adulthood, college and creative differences with her mother (Laurie Metcalf). This is a must-see film that is on movie critic groups' Best of 2017 lists, has received several national awards, and is an Oscar nominee favorite. Paul Willistein of the Lehigh Valley Press reviews the Comedy-Drama film.

Host Bill Dautremont-Smith will be joined at around  3 pm  for a return visit by the acoustic duo of Craig Thatcher on guitars and vocals, and Nyke van Wyk on violin. They'll stop by for a live studio performance of their beautiful renditions of Christmas material and chat about their musical careers together and individually.
