Parent Alert Notices and Security Updates

In an effort to keep families informed of events on campus, NCA will begin sending text messages through Parent Alert regarding police or other emergency responders who may come to school for various reasons.  These text messages will give basic information about the situation. It will also give instructions if there is any need for parents to respond.

Our goal is to communicate more effectively with our families. Please watch for a TEST alert on Tuesday.  This will be an example of a message that would be sent: "SECURITY ALERT:  Police are currently at NCA for a friendly visit.  There is no emergency at this time." If you do not receive this text on Tuesday morning, please contact Ms. Karen at [email protected] to ensure your contact information is updated in RenWeb.

Parents,

It is that time of year where we are winding down and getting ready for Christmas Break and I know the students are excited!! Please follow this link (link to the schedule) to review our Mid-Term Exam schedule.

A couple of things to remember:
  • There are no early releases on Monday and Tuesday. Those are normal scheduled days.
  • Wednesday 12/20 and Thursday 12/21 all exams are done by 11:30. We will have dismissal at the front of the building due to elementary classes still being in session. Should students need to stay for the remainder of the day, there will be an assigned room that they will go to until 3:30 dismissal or until you are able to pick them up.
  • Friday 12/22 all students will need to be picked up by 11:30 as that is a half day. Dismissal will be back to normal due to elementary already having been dismissed.
As always, let me know if you have any questions and/or concerns.

Raise Craze Wrap Up!

The results are in and we couldn't be more thrilled!
Our school has raised $10,204.31 and has completed 155 acts of kindness! Can you believe it?! This was all made possible by our wonderful faculty, supportive family/friends, and stellar students!!!!!  You all really know what it means to be a leader and to touch the lives of others. Way to go! Just because our Raise Craze fundraiser is over doesn't mean the kindness has to stop - let's keep it going and show our community that Nazarene Christian Academy knows what it means to change the world by serving others! Congratulations to everyone!
****There are several students who received incentives such as Donuts, Candy, and Bracelets throughout the fundraiser.  Our top prize winners have received a FIELD TRIP for next Tuesday December 12th.  These students will complete their FINAL ACT OF KINDNESS as a group by serenading the people in the lobby at Huguley Hospital.  The students will then travel on to Villa Dianna where they will be served lunch and they will learn the story of how the community came together to "re-build" the restaurant that had burned to the ground.
****** If your child is one of the individual winners, is in Mrs. Burn's class/Mrs. Newman's class, or is one of the 39 prize goers......... we will need your signature that you have been notified that your child will be leaving NCA on our school bus from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday December 12th Parents/Family: We invite you to meet us at Huguley Hospital to hear the students sing and/or join us for lunch at Villa Dianna Italian Restaurant.
Thank you so much for all your support.  I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart and it was a complete pleasure to serve at the Fundraising Chair for this fundraiser!!! -Jessica Busby
