But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

The Prince Avenue National Art Honor Society's 5th Annual Empty Bowls silent auction will be held Friday, January 27th from 8 am–12 pm.

PACS high school NAHS members, along with faculty members, have created 50 beautiful handmade pottery bowls and will fill the bowls with goods.  A variety of themes will be presented from coffee, edible goodies, and small potted plants to bowls sponsored by local stores and boutiques.

The bowls are on display in the main entrance hallway and will remain until Thursday, January 26th.  The bowls will then be filled and ready for the auction to begin at 8:00 am on Friday. Bidding ends at 12 pm sharp.

Families and friends of PACS are encouraged to generously participate.  All proceeds from the auction will go directly to A Bigger Vision, a local Athens-area homeless shelter.

Chaplain's Corner

This week in Chapel we continued our walk through the Book of I John. For the next several weeks we will be answering the following key question: “What does genuine faith look like?”

As you and your family go about life this week, consider the following questions for conversation:

CONVERSATIONS STARTERS:

Read through I John 1:5-10.

  • “What does it mean that God is holy?”
  • “How does God’s holiness impact my life? If God is always good, how does God’s holiness change the way I feel about situations around me that are not good? If God is always in control, how does God’s holiness change the way I view situations in life that are seemingly out of control?”
  • “Why do you think God will never force His love on you…or will never force you to love Him?”
  • “If God’s greatest desire for His creation is for us to be in a relationship with Him, why do you think He doesn’t just force us to love Him?”
  • “Is it possible to say one thing about having a relationship with God but live a completely different way? Which one is probably more true: what we say or how we live?”
  • “How does it make you feel to know that if you confess your sins to God, He will forgive you and cleanse you?”
  • “How can I pray for you?”

I know we say this often, but we can never say it enough: thank you so much for the honor it is to partner with you and to be a part of what God is doing in each one of your lives!
