Today at the Custom House, we say good bye to SECONN divers' PH2OTO exhibition -- but you don't have to.
SECONN's 2017 calendar, featuring a selection of images from the exhibition, is now on sale at the Custom House MUSEUM SHOP!
The local dive group just held their annual 'Frozen Fin' icy swim at Green's Harbor Beach (upper right), and now are planning for the rest of the year. You may take part. SECONN's next meeting is January 10.
Rachel Perry writes: Join us for SECONN's first meeting of 2017! John Langlois of Enfield Scuba will be presenting on his recent trip to Manila. Don't forget that Mi Rancho is BYOB and you can arrive early if you'd like to have dinner. 90 Plaza Court, Groton, CT. See you there!
The Custom House Maritime Museum is open Thursday through Sunday, from 1 to 5 PM.
Works by François Couperin, Joseph Bologne Saint-Georges, Johann Sebastian Bach, Arcangelo Corelli, and Jean-Marie Leclair played on period instruments and performed in the intimate Crawford Gallery of the Custom House Maritime Museum.
The event is family-friendly.
(As an added incentive to get you out in January, with concert ticket purchase, you also receive
20% off of one item in the MUSEUM SHOP!)
A special feature of this concert is a Sonata by an extraordinary historic figure: the
Chevalier de Saint-Georges, a gifted mulatto who became nothing less than Marie-Antoinette's music teacher, a virtuoso violinist and also a quasi-invincible fencer. This music survived the post-mortem destruction of his musical output by Napoleon in his rage against black rebels in Haiti.
