The
Alliance for Historic Wyoming (AHW) approved funding for the Sheridan Elks Lodge 520 to receive the Historic Architecture Assistance Grant Funds. This is a big boost to help with the Elks renovation of this grand old property. They have already made some nice upgrades and anticipate a complete renovation of this historic building! Purchase your tickets today for the 2017 Wild West Wine Fest and check out the new dance floor in the upstairs ballroom.
The first Wayfinding signs are scheduled to be placed in the next 6 weeks! We hope to complete the second phase by July.
Our Design committee is currently completing a tour of 10 historic downtown buildings accessible on visitors' smartphones via the TravelStorys mobile app. As visitors approach a designated site, TravelStorys launches GPS-triggered audio stories that transforms information into memorable travel experiences.
DSA continues to offer many events in our community and we thank our community volunteers, vendors, sponsors, and staff for making events like 3rd Thursday Street Festival, Sheridan Farmers Market, Wild West Wine Fest, Goose Creek Polo Cup, Hunting For Bucks, Wise Men's Night Out, Pot O' Gold, a-MAY-zing Places Passport and Crazy Days Celebration Sale a great success. These events create a community stronghold where people can come together to celebrate life in Sheridan and could not be done without the tremendous effort from our volunteers, community partners and especially the board members of DSA. Our volunteers help us in every capacity, last year they booked over 2,000 volunteer hours valued at over $40,000. Sheridan's quality of life, which I consider our return on investment is priceless!
