SHEday 2017 Almost Here
We are just one week away from one of the most important events of the year. Get the most of your SHEday 2017 experience by checking out these tips, tools, speaker profiles and sponsor links. We're looking forward to seeing you next Friday!
Important Tips for Your SHEday 2017 Experience

Registration: Please Present Your Ticket
When you registered for SHEday you received a confirmation email containing a link to a bar code. Print the bar code as you will need it to get in. If you do not have access to a printer, download the bar code to your phone. If you have registered multiple people under your email, make sure you distribute the bar codes to your guests as they will need their own bar code to enter. Each bar code admits only one registrant so everyone will need a unique code.

Having trouble locating your email confirmation? Check your junk box and if you still can’t find it,  contact us by email or telephone 204-988-1860. More information on accessing your bar code can be found here

If you are one of our generous sponsors, your tickets were mailed to you. Please distribute them to your guests as they will need one to get in.

Getting to SHEDay: Parking and Transportation
Parking is available at the R
BC Convention Centre but you will need to arrive early to secure a spot. Remember that the RBC Convention Centre is connected to the Downtown skywalk system so you may wish to park a little further away and use the skywalk to get to SHEday. This map will help you move around Downtown and more information on parking rates and locations can be found on this guide.

Menu
The SHEday menu has gluten-free, dairy-free and nut-free options. If you have other medically directed dietary issues or are vegetarian/vegan, please email us by Monday, January 9 so we can ensure we have an appropriate meal for you. If you have let us know about a dietary consideration, stop at the SHEday Information Table to pick up a  card that lets the wait staff know of your needs.

Preconference Networking Tips
We are excited to be kicking off the networking at  SHEday 2017 with our Positive Networking® presentation. Here are a few pre-conference tips to maximize your networking and connecting.

Bring Business Cards
Have enough cards and remember to bring them! If you don’t have business cards or personal cards don’t worry, most printers can print cards digitally and have them back in a day or so. Bring the whole box with you. If you don’t have cards and you want to connect with that person, take their card and save their contact info on your smartphone using an app like CamCard. Or, better yet, ask them to join you on LinkedIn.

Which Brings Us To Our Next Tip...
If you aren’t on LinkedIn, set yourself up on it before the conference. It’s really not that hard. If you are already on LinkedIn make sure your profile is up-to-date. Have your photo on your page.

Wear Clothes with Pockets
This sounds like a crazy tip, but women’s clothes are often pocket-challenged and a pocket is the best place to keep your cards, and put the cards you receive.

Get a Social Head Start
Start following SHEday tweets now: #SHEday2017. Also, follow the Twitter feeds of the speakers or sponsors who interest you. Tweet and retweet―it’s a great way to ‘introduce’ yourself virtually.

Do a Little Homework
If you have been to this conference before, are there people you want to touch base with again? Let them know you’ll be attending. Reconnect at the conference.

Give Yourself Permission
While we all go to conferences with the plan to meet new people, it’s easy to fall back into old habits such as hanging out with people we know or reviewing emails while waiting for the sessions to start. Start the day off right by sitting with people you don’t know. If you plan to come with someone you know don’t sit next to one and other; leave two spaces between you. We will tell you why at our Positive Networking ® session!

MTS Head Shot Lounge
SHEday 2017 wouldn’t be complete without the opportunity to have your photo taken by a professional. MTS is generously sponsoring the Head Shot Lounge and photographer Cory Aronec and his team will be taking the pictures.

Remember to come photo ready! There will be make-up artists
available for touch ups but they can’t do a full makeover.

Reception Following the Formal Program
A reception sponsored by CN will be held i mmediately  following the close of the formal program at 4:00 p.m. T here will be wine and cheese as well as a fashion show showcasing clothing from BellaBALAS. We invite all attendees to stay for this great opportunity to network with other participants while using new networking tips taught from our keynote speakers.
