Preparing the Church for

Would you like to help decorate the Sanctuary for Christmas? We will convene at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 23, to place the poinsettias, put the hurricane lamps in the windows, decorate the aisle candles, and place the pine roping on the window ledges.

Angels and Shepherds

All children are welcome to dress as angels and shepherds for the 4:00 p.m. Christmas Eve Liturgy. Please bring your child or children to the common area above the Godly Play Room to select and dress in a costume. The children will enter the church in the procession with the clergy and sit in the front rows of the church. After the Liturgy (at the Peace), the children may take off their costumes, leave them in baskets near the Andres Library, and return to sit with their families for the remainder of the service.

Our Acolytes Serving in the Community

Several of our acolytes worked at Hamilton County Harvest Food Bank on Saturday, December 17, where they sorted 6,000 pounds of food donated by Carmel Elementary School into bins by kind. Food from HCHFB is distributed to food pantries throughout the county.
Greetings and Happy Holidays

The vestry is grateful for your generosity and support in 2016. As of the end of November, approximately 93% of our commitments have been fulfilled. Please check your records to see if you have fulfilled your commitment. St. Christopher's Episcopal Church is blessed to have so many caring and generous members.

Thank you!
Barb Lyter, Treasurer
Church Office Schedule

The church office will be closed from 4:00 p.m., Friday, December 23, until 8:00 a.m., January 3.

The Weekly News will not be published during the week between Christmas and New Year's Day. The next issue will be distributed on Wednesday, January 4. The deadline for that issue will be noon, Tuesday, January 3.

End of Year Giving
We encourage you to make any year-end monetary gifts before the office closes on December 23. If you will be sending donations by mail to be included on your 2016 giving statement, envelopes must be postmarked by December 31.
Vestry Elections
Sunday, January 8

We will hold vestry elections on January 8 to fill three vestry positions. The vestry is very excited to have a wonderful, diverse slate of candidates, including Kate Bender, Stacy Feltner, and Fred Winters, who have graciously accepted our invitation to run for vestry. Please look for biographies and photos of the slate of candidates in forthcoming communications.

Hiring Process Update
During Coffee Hour, Sunday, January 8

The clergy and vestry will be available after the 10:00 a.m. service to provide an update on the hiring process for the position vacated by Parish Administrator, Denise DeLong. The staff and vestry have been meeting to evaluate our clerical and facilities management needs to ensure that we are using our financial resources to hire appropriate staff. We look forward to the opportunity to provide the congregation with information and answer questions at that time.

Lessons and Carols

Listen to several carols sung by St. Christopher's Choir and Choristers. The selection of music includes some written by our own Robert Richter.  Just select the audio badge to listen.
