National Newsletter - September 2016

Have you ever felt like all of a sudden there was so much good news to share that you didn't know where to start?

Well, that's what it's like in TTN these days.  Things are changing and since we're all becoming so RESILIENT and handling our TRANSITIONS so well, these changes can only be good!

Most of us think of TTN as the wonderful women in our chapter and we're right. Spending quality time with each other is one of the most important benefits of being a member of our organization.  What you may not know is that beyond the scope of our chapter activities, TTN is a highly regarded organization in the world of positive aging.

TTN Board of Direct ors Planning Ahead

On Monday, September 12, the members of the TTN Board of Directors met in New York to look ahead at TTN's future.  As leaders of the organization, it is their responsibility to set the vision for TTN and ensure the resources are available to achieve those goals.

During 2016, three Strategic Planning Committees have been focused on aspects of the plan that was conceived last year.  These committees are focused on Member Experience, Leadership Development, and Development/Fundraising and in addition to the ongoing Board committees responsible for Audit/Finance; Nominating/ Governance, and Strategic Planning.

As it looks ahead to 2017 and beyond, the Board will envision TTN's future, how we will grow and reach more women, and ensure that we are delivering on the promise of connection, discovery and impact. The Network has unlimited potential to change the lives of women 50 and forward!

Mona Kreaden/TTN-HOME on C-SPAN
At the recent Positive Aging Conference, Mona Kreaden presented on TTN-HOME, a program initiated in our San Francisco Chapter. This was broadcast live on C-SPAN. The response to the topic and the information presented has been enormous. Our members are clearly exploring their housing options.  Click here to view this video and learn what you need to consider as you "move" ahead.

TTN-HOME: Age-Friendly Living
The explosion of interest came as a surprise to the organizers. It was standing-room-only at the first workshop on senior housing options hosted in 2012 by the San Francisco/Bay Area chapter of The Transition Network. This national network brings together women age 50+ as they experience personal and professional changes.
