Unity Principle 1: Defining "God"

Unity's first principle is: God is Absolute Good, everywhere present. Is that how you see God, your Divine? Why or why not? Why does Unity hold a truth that God is good and there is "only good"? How can we feel more connected to, and identify with, that divinity? How can we "see" It when life seems difficult or unfair? How can we be more "divine" as we walk the path of life? We'd love to see you as we contemplate Infinite Intelligence, the Divine, this Sunday. Music by UGA professor, Dr. Arvin Scott.

Winter Weather Updates
While it appears we will have a snowfall early Saturday, we fully expect Unity Athens to be open Sunday, January 8th, starting at 9:30 a.m. and into the afternoon. If that changes, we'll send an email and also post a note on our website, UnityAthens.com. You are also welcome to text (preferred) or call Rev. Bronte at 404.432.1976 on Sunday morning any time between 7:00 and 10:45 a.m.for updates on the roads or our parking lot at Bell's Plaza. If you are experiencing ice or snow or do not feel comfortable driving, please stay safe at home.
2017 VISION BOARD WORKSHOP, Sun Jan. 8th, 1:00 to 3:00.
CommUnity Room. Popular, hands-on, creative fun as we "picture" what we'd love to see in our lives. You can do prep work at home - collecting images, magazine pictures, words, & computer printouts of things you like. We'll also supply magazines to cut up, glue, scissors, poster board. Suggestion donation of $5 to $10 but no one will be turned away. Bring a lunch or run out for a quick bite after the service!
Monthly CommUnity Movie:
Sun, Jan 15 from 4:00 to 5:45. Just-released video from Abraham-Hicks: "Clarity, Alaska Cruise 2014: Part 3" Suggested cost, $5.

New Member Classes:
Attend at least 2 classes based on the book, The Five Principles by Ellen Debenport. Read the book & watch the film What is New Thought. January Classes: Sun, Jan. 15 & Sun, Jan. 22 from 9:00 to 10 a.m.; Wed Jan 15, 3:00 to 4:00 and Thurs, Jan. 16 from 3:00 to 4:00.Choose any two classes (free). The book is in our bookstore for $12. See Bronte to possibly arrange other times.
Coming Up!
VERY SPECIAL EVENTS: Singer, songwriter, and mega-instrumentalist Matt Venuti is currently on tour through our area and we are very blessed that he will be performing his "ambient fusion" music for our 11:00 Sunday service
on January 29th. Mark your calendars! That evening, we are also co-hosting an evening of his music with the Healing Arts Centre at their location, 834 Prince Avenue, Athens. There's a reception with beverages and snacks from 6:30 to 7:15 with the concert from 7:30 to 8:30. Cost is $10.
