for NPEA's 9th Annual Conference in Boston, MA on April 5-7, 2017
Underrepresented students often navigate an educational path filled with opportunities and challenges, transitions and choices. From pre-K through middle school, to high school, college, and beyond, their journeys are not the same; instead, their varied experiences shed light on the many factors that shape a student's story, illustrating how success looks different from one student to the next, and providing insights for how we, as professionals, can contribute to the lives and successes of the students with whom we work.

Workshops will cover topics such as:
  • The Power of Partnerships: How High Schools and Higher Education Can Collaborate To Get Students To and Through
  • Innovation Models Used by Institutions that Dream: Supporting Undocumented Students
  • Finding the Career in College and Career Readiness: Fulfilling the End Purpose of a Degree
  • Strengthening College Access Through Evaluation
  • Supporting Students Through Their Intersecting Identities
  • Creating a Community-Based Circle of Care: Working with Students from Age 5 to 25
  • Pathways for Recruitment, Retention, and Persistence for Students of Color in STEAM
This year's keynote speakers include: Christopher Emdin , Stella Flores , and Paul Tough .
