LARRY'S STORY

You may know that we run the Alpha Youth Series at Peardonville Treatment Centre every Thursday evening.  I came across this U-tube that illustrates the power of Alpha, to give you some idea about what we come across each week.

This past Thursday, in particular was very powerful.  The ladies were open to the Alpha message because of various situations in their lives that had led to doubt and denial of God. Alpha gets everyone talking and laughing which leads to open hearts and increased understanding of themselves.  I thank God for this series which is used as  a tool at Peardonville Treatment Centre.

Click on the above link to hear Larry and his father Ryan's story - it is moving.

FOLLOW UP FROM CHRISTMAS BRUNCH

Thank you so much for everyone that attended our Christmas Fundraising Brunch and Silent Auction.  We raised $ 17,554. This is very much appreciated in order for us to continue our ministry in Abbotsford.  So many hearts changed for our Lord, and lives turned around for sobriety and prosperous fulfilling lives.

As you heard at the Brunch our yearly goal is $50,000 in order for us to run our ministry.  To date our donations have been $24,000 which still leaves us with $26,000 to raise.

We were wondering if you could find it in your heart, at this time of year,  to offer a donation to our ministry before the end of 2016.  If you feel you could do this please press the donate button and it will take you to a secure site and arrange for you to receive a charitable donation receipt. Or you can post mark and mail a cheque before the end of the year.

Thank you so much - thank you for saving souls!!
The course:    THRIVE
time_2_learn_vector.jpg
STARTING IN JANUARY
 - please call Keith St Jean to sign up.  The class is filling up quickly.

Some excerpts from the Thrive Course that ran in the fall:

What is Secure Attachment?

- God created us to be in secure attachments with Him and each other.  It is this reality that brings us joy.
- When our attachments are secure and healthy then life can be powered by joy.  We are synchronized, we are working together and we are fulfilling our purpose and destiny.  The two most basic desires of the human soul are being filled, we are beginning to discover the answers to the two root questions of  existence; who am I and why am I here?  The quest for identity and purpose begins to be realized.

Returning to Joy
- "Those who think they can do it on their own end up obsessed with measuring their own moral muscle but never get around to exercising it in real life.  Those who trust God's action in them find that God' Spirit is in them - living and breathing God!  Obsession with self in these matters is a dead end; attention to God leads us out into the open, into a spacious, free life.  Focusing on the self is the opposite of focusing on God. Anyone completely absorbed in self ignores God, ends up thinking more about self than God.  That person ignores who God is and what he is doing.  And God isn't pleased at being ignored."  Romans 8:5-8

- Our perception and reactions to pain are what guide our reactions to good and evil.  We live with this kind of belief:
- If it hurts it is bad and therefore must not be God
- It is not painful it is good and therefore must be God
- If I am in relationship with God and there is pan then it can't be God's will, I must be wrong about this, God and/or others don't care about me
- If I am in relationship with God and there is no pain then it must be God's will, I must be right, God and others do care.
WHEN THIS HAPPENS THEN OUR LEVEL OF PAIN EXCEEDS OUR LEVEL OF JOY

I could go on forever here - the course is for anyone with a difficult childhood - someone who wants to reshape the neural pathways into finding love, joy and quiet in their lives.  That could actually be all of us...take a step - call Keith and you will be happy you did!!!
THANK YOU

" God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them."   Hebrews 6:10
