Treasured Lands Exhibit at Meadow Lakes - Reception Jan. 29 America's National Parks in 59 Gorgeous Photographs
QT Luong is the only photographer known to have made large-format photographs in all 59 national parks.
The Treasured Lands Exhibit graces the halls of Meadow Lakes until February 1 and the Hightstown community is invited to a reception on Sunday, January 29 from 3 - 5 pm where they can view the photos up close.
Prior to arriving at Meadow Lakes, the Treasured Lands exhibit was previously shown in Miami, Fullerton, CA, Boston and Las Vegas. The project,- QT Luong's life work - spanning the past 20 years, is distinguished by continued wilderness travels, depth of geographic and thematic scope, and skilled craftsmanship. It earned him a spot as a character in the popular Ken Burns and Dayton Duncan PBS series "The National Parks: America's Best Idea" (2009), and celebrates the 100th anniversary of the US National Park Service.
Springpoint Living at Meadow Lakes, the Hightstown Parks & Recreation Commission and the Hightstown Cultural Arts Commission are collaborating to offer this rare opportunity for the public to enjoy this unique exhibit and a wine and cheese reception.
Copies of the photographs will be available for purchase along with a stunning book that catalogues the exhibit. Purchases will benefit both Hightstown commissions.
"the highlight,,,is Treasured Lands, an exhibition of 58 photographs by the French-Vietnamese photographer Quang-
Tuan Luong - one of each the United States's 58 national parks. "Photos of National Parks - I can get that on Flickr," you say? Not even close. Mr. Luong's large-format camera creates images of beaches and glaciers and deserts and waterfalls from American Samoa to Maine that were so astonishingly sharp and mesmerizing that my father was convinced there was some special 3-D technology involved. There's not: they're just awesome photos."
