  • Landscape architect Thomas Rainer creates vibrant, healthy plant communities where native North American species mingle in a harmonious mix. Find out how at his talk on Where Ecology Meets Horticulture: Designing Plant Communities.
     
  • Rainer will follow with a second talk: Creating and Managing a Plant Community: Creative Approaches to Site Preparation, Installation, and Maintenance.
     
  • Garden writer Lee Reich speaks on Weedless Gardening, a 4-part system that cares for the soil while reducing weeds.
     
  • Reich also offers a second talk: Multi-Dimensional Vegetable Gardening, sharing ideas and examples for how to use each of five dimensions toward maximizing vegetable production.
     
  • Noted plantsman and explorer Dan Hinkley will share ideas and plant combinations that fully realize three Forgotten Elements of Good Design: Texture, Movement and Fragrance.
     
  •  Linda Beutler, curator of the Rogerson Clematis Collection, enchants us with
    A World of Clematis, from heirloom varieties to the latest hybrids.
     
  • Have you noticed a revolution taking root in front gardens across North America? Garden designer and educator Lucy Hardiman documents this phenomenon with photos from Pacific Northwest gardens in Full Frontal Gardens.
