New $30 million Science and Innovation Centre at UWindsor
The Honourable Navdeep Bains MBA '01, Canada's Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development was on campus January 12 to announce the Federal Government's commitment of nearly $15 million towards the Centre.The Province of Ontario will contribute $2.5 million with the University funding the balance.
The new facility will focus on three areas of research: advanced materials, translational health, and medical physics and provide both undergraduate and graduate research opportunities.
Assumption teacher honoured by University of Chicago
Adam Mills, Hons BSc '05, BED '07 joined a select group of teachers from around the world honoured by the University of Chicago over the past three decades. The award recognizes teachers who have had a significant influence in the development of students entering the University of Chicago. Adrian Di Meo, a former student nominated Mills.
The January 31 deadline for nominations is quickly approaching. Submissions are being requested in two categories: Inductee, which includes both Administrator/Builder/Coach and Athlete, and Sport Achievement.This is an excellent opportunity to show your Lancer pride and recognize outstanding alumni and community achievements.

Nominations are currently being requested for
Alumni Award of Merit and
Odyssey Award for alumni. Submissions for
Excellence in Mentoring and
Alumni Award for Distinguished Contributions to University Teaching for faculty are also being accepted.
The School of Creative Arts is partnering with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra and flutist Alexander Zonjic BMA '75 for the
Zonjic Meets Motown concert. The event will be held at the Capitol Theatre on Saturday January 28, 2017.

The University of Windsor will host the 2017 Energy and Natural Resources Symposium and Summit on June 22 and 23
in the Ed Lumley Centre for Engineering Innovation. The Symposium will explore the technical, political and financial aspects of the sustainable production and use of energy.
