Dr. Jack McKee performs TAVR
Another first at St. Bernards!
Dr. Jack McKee, an Interventional Cardiologist at St. Bernards Heart & Vascular, i s the very first physician in the region and St. Bernards is the second hospital in the state to perform a minimally invasive procedure known as TAVR, which inserts a new valve inside a diseased aortic valve and does not require open heart surgery.

TAVR is performed through very small openings that leave all chest bones in place. It typically requires a shorter hospital stay than open heart surgery (3-5 days) and causes significantly less pain than open heart surgery.
