Stop, Look, Listen

Frederick Buechner writes that the most basic lesson of art is to "stop, look, and listen to life on this planet." And, he says, that is what prophets have done throughout history. This morning's worship will invite us to complete these three simple (and yet difficult) tasks.  
What's Happening in Religious Education This Week
This week, the children are beginning their exploration of a famous figure in Unitarian Universalist history. First-service preschool will be a part of this exploration, while second-service preschool will enjoy their own prophetic story from Taoism. Our Whole Lives sexuality education resumes this Sunday for registered middle schoolers, while the high school is starting work on their Youth  
Sunday  service.

Please participate!  Paper sign up sheets will be available at church in the Commons this Sunday, January 8 and Sunday, January 15 after each service. We can also help you with making an appointment if you call 812-332-3695 on weekdays, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Photo sessions still available Feb 1-4. Monday, March 20 is reserved for those who are out of town in January and February.  Online sign up will be available here  from 12 noon Monday, January 9 through 3:30 p.m. Friday, January 13.
Interfaith Celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. 
Sunday, January 8 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Mark's
Reverend Macklin reminds us of the importance of interfaith gatherings in 2017. This Sunday, January 8th at 4:00 p.m., please join us for an Interfaith Celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. at St. Mark's United Methodist Church.   Reverend Macklin serves on the coordinating committee for this event, which promises to have a high interfaith turnout.

Caregiver Support Network Meeting Sunday, January 8
The Caregiver Support Network will meet this Sunday, January 8, 3:00-4:30 p.m.  in the Library. If you are you caring for an elder or person with a disability either here or from a distance, we would like to hear from you about the challenges of caregiving as well as the gifts it brings; support you have or need; and resources available. The Women's Bus to Indianapolis on January 21 is Full!
The women with our Reproductive Justice Task Force planning the bus trip to Indianapolis to march at the capitol on January 21 sent a note on January 4 to say the bus is full!

Labyrinth Walk Is Back--January 22-28
