On Tuesday, a broad coalition of law enforcement associations joined ALADS, including the LAPPL, Sergeants Benevolent Association of New York, San Francisco POA, Oakland POA and San Jose POA calling for the offensive painting to be removed. To read their letter, click here .
 
ALADS has learned that San Diego area Congressman Duncan Hunter took matters into his own hands and today personally removed the offensive painting.  
 
In a national Fox News story, ALADS President Ron Hernandez is quoted as saying:
 
" At a time of our country facing rising crime and a shortage of those willing to work the streets as police officers and deputy sheriffs, we need to make it clear that depictions of law enforcement officers as pigs in our Nation's Capital is not acceptable."
