The Center for Transformative Change Celebrates One Year of "Helping People Help Themselves"
A rep from Long Island Cares holds a healthy cooking demonstration as part of the CTC Enrichment Program
CTC Turns One!
Since its grand opening in January of 2016, the Center for Transformative Change (CTC) has committed to helping guests of the Mary Brennan INN soup kitchen improve their lives by providing direct assistance and connecting them with selected outside social service agencies.

Through the Resource Center, Boutique and Enrichment Program, CTC has seen over 800 guests and continues to provide support and assistance in obtaining ID documents, become job ready, apply for government benefits, learn basic computer skills and English as a second language. The boutique provides necessary clothing and household items and the Enrichment program workshops offer health services, money management and career services.

Grant Funds to Help Support Long-Term Housing and Men's Shelter Programs
The INN is the proud recipient of three separate grants, totaling $45,000 to help support its programs. The WE CARE Fund grant from the Nassau Bar Foundation awarded $10,000 for the Long-Term Housing program, which provides guests with affordable housing options and a host of extensive supportive services. A Home Depot Capital Improvement Kitchen Project grant in the amount of $25,000 was given to assist the Donald Axinn INN Men's Shelter to update their space, and the Frank J. Antun Foundation awarded The INN with $10,000 for general operating support.

"Business partnerships play an important role in assisting The INN in its ability to fulfill its core mission for those in need," said Dorian Stern, Director of Development for the INN. "We never expect any one person or organization to do it all, but all together we can do INNcredible things. We are forever grateful to those whose grant awards underwrite the costs of specific programs and projects."
