Brandi Rickels, RA has been promoted to Associate Partner. Brandi Rickels joined Lake|Flato in 1998 and co-leads the firm’s Schools Studio. Her steady leadership has helped to evolve and hone a unique design approach for school clients that centers around people, place, programs and performance. This approach has resulted in award-winning school designs such as Francis Parker School in San Diego, CA; Cranbrook Kingswood Middle School for Girls in Bloomfield Hills, MI; and Indian Springs School in Birmingham, AL.
Jonathan Smith, AIA, LEED AP BD+C has been promoted to Associate Partner. Jonathan Smith joined Lake|Flato in 2005 and is passionate about large scale, urban mixed-use projects that reinforce sustainable design, catalyze community development, and create memorable places. He has contributed to many of the firm’s most recognized urban work including both the Pearl Brewery Master Plan and 1221 Broadway Redevelopment in San Antonio, TX as well as Sylvan Thirty Mixed Use in Dallas, TX. Jonathan is currently leading the efforts on the New Austin Central Library which will provide a landmark civic presence in a rapidly urbanizing district of the city.
Matt Wallace, AIA, LEED AP BD+C has been promoted to Associate Partner. Matt Wallace joined Lake|Flato in 2005 and is a leader of the firm’s Eco-Conservation Studio. Raised along the Mississippi River, Matt champions projects that encourage environmental education and stewardship. Matt’s recent projects include the Headwaters at the Comal in New Braunfels, TX; and pioneering the Marine Education Center at the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory in Ocean Springs, MS.
Todd Wascher, AIA, LEED AP BD+C has been promoted to Associate Partner. Todd Wascher joined Lake|Flato in 2005 and has over a decade of experience working on transformative commercial development and master planning projects, including the award-winning Pearl Brewery Redevelopment Master Plan. Todd is dedicated to projects that positively impact the communities they serve. Most recently, Todd has focused on a master plan and new expansion for the Witte Museum of Natural History and Science in San Antonio, TX.
