Arguing about What the Health

Earlier today, I watched a fifteen minute video on YouTube. It was produced by Plant Based News in the UK and entitled:

"Epic TV Debate: The Doctors vs. What the Heath"

But it wasn't a debate at all; it was non-stop arguing, except for the excellent narration.

Further, I suspect that none of the hundreds of thousands of people who watched any part of "The Doctors" segment actually changed their opinions--either way. ("The Doctors"  show is now in its 10th season.)

Why so? Because when we talk about the Standard American Diet (SAD), we're talking about arguably the most popular diet in the history of humanity. I estimate that at least 80% of the people in the developed world are eating some version of it.

Consider that after being coached to eat that way by their mother and/or their medical doctor, most are not likely to abruptly change their minds after hearing a heated "argument" about it on TV.

As I watched this video, I thought about "arguing" as it relates to the delicate topic of food choices--and was reminded of a chapter in our book. Appearing near the end, and provided here, it is entitled:

You might be thinking, "If I can't argue or proselytize about healthy eating, how can I spread the message? I explain in Chapter 34 above?

As for "What the Health" documentary on Netflix, I know many of the expert "stars" of that video and highly recommend the film and its message.

Following this 15-minute "Epic TV Debate,"   I have provided a two minute trailer of the powerful "What the Health" film below.

But first, let the arguing begin:

Dr. Stork vs. Dr Davis
"This is the 15-minute analysis of the "debate" between Dr. Stork of  The Doctors and two representatives of
What the Health: Kip Anderson, co-director and Garth Davis, MD who appeared in the documentary.

As for  What the HealthI think it's terrific. Just over 90 minutes, it features many of the medical and scientific experts that I respect most: like Dr. T. Colin Campbell, Dr. Michael Greger, Dr. Neal Barnard and Dr. Michael Klaper as he appears here in this two-minute trailer of this great film:

Check out the entire documentary on Netflix

The Bottom Line. This film helped to influence one of the greatest NBA players of all time, Kyrie IrvingAND my only daughter--to shift quickly to a whole food, plant-based diet.

Looking for Opportunities to Speak. Since 2016, my research and writing has been focused primarily on the sustainability of our ecosystem, our civilization and our future as as a species. With an emphasis on food choices, I call it the "most important topic in the history of humanity."

After all, what could possibly be more important to humans than the survival of our species?

The current title of my standard presentation:

Food. Health. Planet. Our Future as a Species.
