Chanting Torah with Mark Weiner
Starting this spring, fellow congregant Mark Weiner will teach the skill of chanting Torah. Opportunities for Torah readers to learn Advanced Torah reading skills are also available. We will be reading the book “This Changes Everything” by Naomi Klein, and Rabbi Fel will give a sermon on this topic. We will have an opportunity to discuss the book and the rabbi’s sermon during Kiddush.

Emunat HaLev, the Meditation Institute of Temple Emunah is excited to announce that we are having a special Meditative Ma'ariv service with Rabbi Lerner on Wednesday, January 25, 7:30 PM. And please note that our January Shabbat morning meditation has be rescheduled to January 28.

Sisterhood Passover Fair Trade Chocolate is coming soon!  Our popular Passover fundraiser is back again for your enjoyment.  We are selling 4 different delicious organic bars, Dark Chocolate with Almond (55% Cacao), Dark Chocolate Orange (65% Cacao), Mint Chocolate (67% Cacao) and Very Dark Chocolate (71% Cacao). The chocolate bars are $4 each.  We are also selling 10 ounce bags of organic semi-sweet chocolate chips (55% Cacao). The chips are produced in a facility that does not process peanuts, tree nuts, milk, eggs, wheat and soy. The cost is $5 per bag.  Look for our table during the Purim Carnival on Sunday March 12th. Community Leadership Program in Israel: The Shalom Hartman Institute is now accepting applications for June 2017! For the past sixteen years the Shalom Hartman Institute has been hosting lay leaders from around the world to study texts with world-renowned scholars, learn about current Israeli policies and politics, and explore Israel. Each year, the Shalom Hartman Institute hosts over 150 lay leaders to study a specific topic.

#HartmanSummer 2017 will address some of the most significant challenges and questions facing modern Israel, reimagining the claims of our past, and imagining the possibilities for our future, through lectures, seminars, day trips, and special programs.

JCDS Parlor Meeting: Please join us on Thursday, January 19 at 8:00 PM for a parlor meeting with JCDS Head of School Dr. Susie Tanchel at the home of a current JCDS family in Arlington, MA. We will explore how JCDS partners with families to raise creative and joyful Jewish learners who will have the skills to solve problems and navigate an increasingly diverse world. Solomon Shechter Group Visits: Group Visit for Students Entering Grade 1 on  Wednesday, January 25, 2017, 8:30-9:30 AM.  Students entering grade 1 in Fall 2017 and their families are invited to a special morning led by Schechter's 1st-grade teaching team, designed to help us get to know your child. Prospective students participate in hands-on learning centers, activities and playtime.

SCHECHTER PALS (Preschoolers and Little Siblings) is a free, family-friendly series of programs of the Solomon Schechter Day School. At every PALS event, preschoolers enjoy entertainment and projects that are designed to be engaging, educational and interactive. ESER at Hebrew College, Young Adult Learning SeriesMake meaningful connections and engage in conversations that matter.
