September events are upon us 

This upcoming week in Fredericksburg will play host to several events but a few to highlight include:  First Friday, Bricks & Boards in the 'Burg Walking Tour, Light Up the Power Plant, Jefferson, Monroe & Wine, and Art Attack.  Music is always within earshot in Downtown  and Celebrate Virginia so don't forget about those regular  concert series.

City's 2nd Quarter Statistics

This report shows key metrics on how the Fredericksburg economy fared in the second quarter of 2017. You will find information on the residential and commercial real estate markets, new business activity, labor market data and more. We are enthused by the decreases in commercial vacancy rates for office and industrial properties, as well as the continued gains in commercial tax revenues, strengthening of hotel data and increases in jobs. You will also find a list of all the great new businesses that have recently chosen Fredericksburg.

Fox 5 visits Fredericksburg

The Soup and Taco, Etc. makes the 10 Best Taco Places in Virginia!

The Soup and Taco, Etc. has been named as one of the 10-best taco places in Virginia! Talk about authentic Tex-Mex food, well walk no farther than 813 Caroline St. or their second location at 806 William St.  Yes, this restaurant has two locations within 0.7 miles of each other in Fredericksburg.

Train Station set for upgrades by VRE and city

Though final designs have not been completed and a timeline has not been set, upgrades are planned for the train station.  Concrete modifications and repairs are planned for a section of the platform to the south of the main platform area, and the construction of a stair tower at the southeastern corner of the station will allow passengers to avoid walking across Princess Anne Street.

Dr. Paino, President of UMW, looks to the future

Dr. Paino has a vision for the students and campus of the University of Mary Washington.  On August 17, during the all-university event, UMW's president outlined four main goals centering on an investment of hope for the future.

Significant population growth expected locally

The future of Fredericksburg heritage tourism sites

Historical tourism is here to stay, but it must change with the times. Fredericksburg has a wealth of history that contributes significantly to our local economy.
