The Leaflet a newsletter for parents and friends of Ashwood Waldorf School

From the Director
Welcome Back!
Greetings, Ashwood Waldorf School Community!
I hope that you have had a fabulous summer. In July, I undertook the wonderful journey of walking the Camino Portuguese, a 180-mile trek from Porto, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. As my husband and I trekked through vineyards and olive orchards, through sandy beaches and forested mountains, backs aching, feet blistered, but with big grins plastered onto our faces, I noted repeatedly that hard work and stretching beyond my comfort level are necessary parts of continuing to grow and learn. While I cannot put into words the direct lessons from this experience, I know that it continues to stir me and brings a new sense of inspiration to the coming school year ahead. Read more!

See you soon, and welcome back to school!

Cellphones
Reminder: To model conscious media use,  we ask that adults refrain from using cellphones, texting, or using other electronic devices while moving through the school buildings, walking on campus grounds, and while dropping off and picking up their children.
If adults need to use their phones while at school, we suggest they do so in their car.

Rose Ceremony
You are warmly invited to Ashwood Waldorf School's Rose Ceremony, a treasured tradition, to welcome our new first graders and honor our graduating students, on Tuesday, September 5, at 12:00 noon.
The ceremony will take place at the entrance to the grade school building. Please bring lunch for your family and stay to socialize afterward! You might like to bring a picnic blanket.

School will end at 1:00 p.m. on the first day (11:45 for early-childhood students). If you're not able to be there for the Rose Ceremony, please pick your children up at 1:00 p.m.

In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held in the community room downstairs in the grade school building.
