"We’ll never feel the impact of what happened in Bethlehem until we are shocked by it. The Almighty God came down to be born from Mary’s womb— wet, screaming, helpless, and naked in the same way every one of us was born."
- Rev. James Harnish,
When God Comes Down: An Advent Study , page 18

I'm excited for so many amazing opportunities coming up for us to build community. From the Pot Luck Par-Tay to the Ski Trip, from the Star Wars Lock-In to shopping for those in need, there's something nearly every week to help us gather together and share the love of Jesus with each other.

I find myself at a point of both looking back on an amazing year while also thinking ahead for what's to come. We have great traditions that are carrying on with new face. Likewise, we have new opportunities ahead of us, some we know and some will surprise us. And really, that is not only about this ministry, but for us as a church and as the people of God. Friends, as we come together, may we be reminded that we are those who would carry on what is important. Be it tradition or a fresh find, it is up to our commitment to each other and God to carry on.

In Christ,
Rev. Nate Melcher

Registration Opens Soon
Our annual tradition returns as we head to Lutsen for a weekend of skiing, games, good food, and one heckuva road trip. This year, we'll be up for only two nights instead of three, and so the price is down, too (TBD). Never gone skiing before? No equipment? No problem! Just sign up for a beginner's lesson and/or rent your equipment on-site. Come and be a part of this grand tradition. We could use at least 1-2 more parent drivers and/or chaperones.
SPECIAL ALERT: VIDEO THEOLOGY MEETS IN THE LONGFELLOW ROOM THIS SUNDAY!
Sunday Evenings, 7:00pm-8:00pm, in the Church of Youth Room

Parents! Invite a friend and be a part of this brand-new drop-in group! We watch a documentary episode, short film, or a film in parts and explore its themes and ideas for our faith, our lives, and our God in a casual group discussion. Gatherings are facilitated by Pastor Nate Melcher. Yes, we will have popcorn! Open to all adults, so invite a friend! #livetoinvite
A co-production of Frontline and American Experience for PBS, God in America examines the history of religions in what is now the United States from around 1600 to 2010. We'll see priests and Pueblos, early Methodism, the Civil War, religion and schools, the trial of evolution, the simultaneous rise of Billy Graham and Martin Luther King, and today's religious pluralistic society.
