On July 1, 2017, Canada will mark the 150th anniversary of Confederation. Canada 150 presents a unique opportunity for Albertans to join in the national celebration as Canadians recognize this national milestone and anticipate our future together.

Nonprofit organizations can apply for a maximum of $25,000 per project with a $150 cash match. The first intake to accept applications will be January 15, 2017, and the final intake will be October 15, 2017. The monthly application deadline will be the 15th of each month from January through October 2017.
The Alberta Canada 150 grant is intended to support projects with a lasting impact. Although celebratory events will not be eligible for funding support through the Alberta Canada 150 stream, they may be eligible through CIP Project Based. The grant will support projects that align with the four themes for the federal Canada 150 approach:

• Diversity and inclusion, and the building of common interests and relationships;
• Supporting efforts toward reconciliation of Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians;
• Engaging and inspiring youth to carry forward the legacy of Canada 150; and
• Connecting Canadians with nature and raising environmental stewardship to the level of national consciousness.

Older adults may experience unique risk factors that can lead to substance abuse or misuse, including a personal loss, limited physical mobility, chronic conditions, pain, or depression and anxiety. This webinar will discuss prevention, evaluation, and treatment options for an aging population.
