school_supplies_blackboard.jpg

WHEN:   Sundays from 10:30AM-11:00AM, starting Jan. 15
WHERE:   The Youth Wing
WHO:  For kids ages 3 (must be potty trained) through 5th grade

Additional details: To aid our Sunday School leaders in starting promptly, the kids attending the 9:30 service will be asked to lead the benediction at the end of the service and then exit the sanctuary with one of the teachers. Kids attending the 11:00 service will be escorted to the Fellowship Hall at the end of Sunday School to join their parents. Parents are invited to meet in the parlor for coffee while the kids are in Sunday School.

We've heard from so many that Sunday School is important to you and we need your help to make this successful. We would appreciate any support you can provide, whether that is through leading our children, sending your kids, or simply keeping our Christian Education program in your prayers.

We are asking if everyone could sign up to teach at least one Sunday - no long term commitments! We will provide you with the lesson and materials each week to make it easy to be the leader. You can  sign up here! Questions? Email Kerry Alfrey.

He is the regional representative for Central America based in Costa Rica. They are looking forward to sharing their missionary experiences with all ages at our church.
Please join us for a pot luck following the  11 am service.  You can sign up at the Welcome Center on or before Jan 8. We would like you to indicate a casserole, salad or dessert.

The Evangelism committee is looking for a member to host Pastor Deal and his wife to stay at their house Saturday night and provide breakfast for the couple, preferably in Pinehurst or Southern Pines. If you are able to house them, please call or email Pastor Linn. Thank you all in advance for your hospitality and for welcoming the Deal's into our congregation!

Thiel Choir in Concert - March 4th at 7 pm

The forty-voice Thiel Choir from Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania, will
perform in concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church.

They will also sing in worship Sunday morning, March 5th. The performance is part of the Thiel Choir's 2017 spring choir tour. The Thiel Choir performs annually for audiences predominantly in the eastern United States and tours internationally every four years. The ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Michael Bray, reflects the diverse interests and disciplines of the Thiel College student body.
Thiel College is a college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and its 135-acre campus is located in Greenville, a community of 7,000.

The choir will perform a variety of sacred works by Hans Leo Hassler, Henry Purcell, Rene Clausen, Jean Berger, F. Melius Christiansen, Vincent Persichetti, Michael John Trotta, Knut Nystedt and Robert Wetzler, and arrangements of both American folksongs, hymns and spirituals. For this 500th anniversary year of the Reformation, excerpts from the writings of Martin Luther will help weave a narrative for our time.

There will be no charge for admission, however, a freewill offering will be taken.

For more information about the concert, contact the church office at 910-692- 2662.
